SOBIESKI

SOBIESKI vodka is the first and the only vodka in Lithuania the production of which is consistently and scrupulously followed from the very first grain. In addition to strict supervision of vodka production, vodka producers control rye grown in the same farms of the Upper Lithuania for numerous years themselves and produce spirit in own distillery themselves instead of importing it from other countries, they prepare water and supervise the production of vodka. Such heedful supervision of all stages of vodka production enables retaining unchanging taste and quality. Due to the careful production and supervision of rye harvest, SOBIESKI vodka may be called grown in Lithuania.

The special supervision of production of SOBIESKI vodka is based on strict requirements of Vilniaus Degtinė and its partner (French concern Belvedere). The French are famous for the nurturance of wine production traditions and for the applied controlled region rule: one region, one field, one farmer. The idea to apply the same principle to vodka production occurred to the French in particular. The main component of vodka production – rye is grown in one region and always in the same farms. Such supervision enables to sustain an unchanging quality of every new harvest.

The “growth” of SOBIESKI vodka starts from the sowing of rye. Distilled alcohol is prepared at an own distillery from new harvest after the end of taking rye harvest every year, subsequently alcohol of the highest quality is produced which is used for vodka production. This is why vodka SOBIESKI celebrates the New Year at the end of August.

SOBIESKI vodka is produced according to a unique technology of the 19th century. The recipe and technology of the vodka have been purified to perfection. On the basis of a unique recipe, it is produced from the highest-quality luxury spirit only and purified water without any additional flavourings. Furthermore, SOBIESKI is produced only at the production line created for this vodka, and the result is just perfect – an excellent noble vodka of high quality and an unchanging taste without any additives.

The French concern Belvedere successfully tested this principle of vodka creation along with the Poles for the first time; therefore, the name of Jan III Sobieski, the King of the Lithuanian Grand Duchy and Poland, was chosen. He and his French wife contributed a lot to the approximation of the Lithuanian and Polish estates, customs and traditions to the European culture.
